Star Trek: This is the correct chronological order

As with Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and other film and series universes, the films were not released in chronological order. Some films and series are prequels, others play parallel to other stories.

The new timeline, also known as the Kelvin timeline, has, like “Star Trek” to “Star Trek VI”, Captain Kirk, Spock and Pill as crew of the Enterprise, but since the new three films (Star Trek 2009, Into Darkness , Beyond) appeared almost 40 years after the first series with the same roles, new actors had to be found.

So Chris Pine inherits William Shatner as Captain Kirk and instead of Leonard Nimoy, who still has a guest appearance as the aged Spock, Zachary Quinto can be seen as Mr. Spock. “The Boys” star Karl Urban plays Dr. “Bones” McCoy, who was played by DeForest Kelley in the old movies and series.
