Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, improvements and a technological addition expected with patch 7

Even though rumors are that Respawn Entertainment is already looking at a third installment and that PS4 and Xbox One versions of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor were announced by the CEO ofElectronic Arts, the studio continues to optimize its baby and release patches for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. We have further proof of this on Tuesday with the broadcast ofa patch 7which should appeal to the most picky players on the technical part.

Indeed, the biggest novelty on computer is the addition of the DLSS of NVIDIA. Well, since when it comes out DigitalFoundry called this version “the worst port of a AAA on PC”, it clearly can’t hurt it in terms of performance. On consoles, the two optimization modes have been redesigned, allowingfinally reach 60 fps, du VRR first appeared on PS5 and the backup system has been revised to avoid problems. THE changelog can be found below:

  • This update introduces several performance improvements* to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, including:
    • Performance mode has been completely reworked to significantly improve the player experience.
      • A number of GPU and CPU optimizations, as well as disabling ray-tracing, improve the player experience, including 60 fps in Performance mode.

    • Quality mode has also received optimizations to help reduce FPS fluctuations and add other visual improvements.

  • Support for variable refresh rates added for PS5.
  • Additional performance improvements and optimizations for PC, including DLSS support.
  • Changes to the save system to prevent save data corruption.
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from recovering their EXP after dying under certain circumstances.
  • Various crash fixes.
  • Various bug fixes and improvements across all platforms, including fabric, lighting, and UI fixes.

*Star Wars Jedi: Survivor cutscenes on console are locked at 30 frames per second.
