Star Wars Jedi: Survivor reveals some more details about its gameplay and its characters

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor took advantage of the last Game Awards to present us with an action-packed trailer, which hinted at a lot of things about the direction taken by this sequel. A new interview with Stig Asmussendirector of the game, produced by Game Informer, comes to teach us a little more about this second episode, with information on the novelties of gameplay and on the journey of Cal Kestis.

The trailer deciphered by the director

In this interview, we learn that Cal will have new combat postures that he will have to adapt according to the enemies he will encounter. These postures will change the way he fights, as we saw in the trailer with a lightsaber that splits in two.

We also find the Kylo Ren-style lightsaber, which will slow down the movements of our heroes because of heavier but more devastating attacks. Cal will also be able to pull out his blaster and fight in less conventional ways for a Jedi, simultaneously using this weapon with his saber.

The interview also tells us that our hero will travel to several planets during his journey, but one of them promises to be particularly large. Stig Asmussen describes the latter as being the place allocated to exploration in the game and we imagine that it is here that the mounts will be there, as we have seen in the trailer.

Finally, the trailer also showed us a new traveling companion for Cal. We now know that his name is Bode Akunawho is a mercenary who will not only have an impact on the story, but who will also be able to interact with Cal in combat and exploration:

He and Cal share a special bond. It’s almost like they’re brothers. And they’re not exactly the same, but they really complement each other. ยป

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be released on March 17, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
