Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic Remake disappears from the radar, Sony erases all traces of its existence

Is the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic remake about to be canceled? In any case, Sony would do everything to remove mentions of the game from its media. A year after worrying rumors about the development, this strategy gives a bad presentment.

Announced in 2021, the remake of Knights of the Old Republic is eagerly awaited by Star Wars fans. But since the teaser, no more news apart from worrying rumors. Kotaku claims today that Sony is in the process of remove any mention of the game from its site and social networks.

It was first on the YouTube channel that the purge began. The 2021 teaser was thus deleted without further ado. If the showcase video is still present, the trailer alone for the title is no longer available. Even more, all tweets mentioning KOTOR are now untraceable. In short, the game has indeed disappeared from the radar screens.

Sony deletes all mentions of Knights of the Old Republic

Two solutions are possible: either the project was simply canceled, or Sony is no longer a partner, and KOTOR is therefore no longer a PS5 exclusive.

The fact is that the giant Embracer is experiencing some financial difficulties. The august studio Volition (Saints Row) has closed its doors, Cristal Dynamic (Tomb Raider) has laid off a large number of employees and rumors point to an upcoming resale of Gearbox (Borderlands). In this delicate context, not sure that the KOTOR remake is a priority…

As a reminder, Knights of the Old Republic is a Star Wars role-playing game released in 2003. Developed by Bioware, it is considered one of the best games from the saga. The announcement of its remake therefore aroused some anticipation among fans. A wait ultimately in vain?
