At the end of “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, the spin-off dedicated to the youth of the famous smuggler, there is a little nod to Indiana Jones. Have you noticed it?
A hieroglyph representing two famous droids in the city of Tanis, references to Obi-Wan Kenobi and C-3PO on the cabin of a seaplane at the start of Raiders of the Lost Ark, a wink to a prestigious Jedi, hidden in the front of a nightclub in Shanghai… The Indiana Jones saga has always included little easter eggs in its films that echo those of Star Wars.
This is not surprising given that George Lucas, creator of the famous distant galaxy, is also the screenwriter of Indy’s adventures. Despite everything, conversely, nods to the adventurer in the films of the Star Wars franchise are much rarer. Provided you observe carefully and know where to look, you can, however, come across one from time to time, such as the one that will interest us today, hidden at the end of Solo: A Star Wars Story.
It is also quite logical that this spin-off (dedicated to the youth of the famous smuggler played by Harrison Ford in the original trilogy) pays a little homage to the actor’s other emblematic character: Indiana Jones.

To spot it, you will need to press the “pause” button on your remote control at 1 hour, 48 minutes and 58 seconds of the feature film, that is to say at the moment when Han Solo and Chewbacca arrive on the desert planet of Savareen to deliver the precious coaxium to the criminal Dryden Voss.
By carefully observing the many collector’s items that sit in the latter’s office, and in particular those exhibited on the left in this image (see above), you will undoubtedly recognize the Chachapoyan idol, the priceless artifact that Indy was trying to recover at the start of Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first part of the saga (see below).

Quite discreet throughout the sequence, the famous statuette easily goes unnoticed if you don’t know exactly where to look for it, but continues to appear furtively on other shots throughout the discussion between Han, Dryden Voss and Qi’Ra.
