USA: Household morale erodes more than estimated in April

April 26 (Reuters) – American household morale deteriorated a little more than predicted at first reading in April, the final results of the monthly survey from the University of Michigan showed on Friday.

Its confidence index stood at 77.2 while economists polled by Reuters anticipated 77.9 after 79.4 in March.

The survey’s one-year inflation forecast was raised by 0.1 percentage point to 3.2% in April, from 2.9% in March, with the five-year inflation outlook remaining stable at 3 .0% compared to 2.8% in March. (Written by Corentin Chappron, edited by Kate Entringer)
