Star Wars: the music of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series signed by a legendary composer

Legendary composer of the three “Star Wars” trilogies, John Williams will come out of retirement to compose the musical theme for the “Obi-Wan Kenobi” series, expected on Disney+ from May 25.

One thing is already certain: Obi-Wan Kenobi will not be a Star Wars series like the others. Expected from May 25, this new television production (after The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett) will mark the great return of Ewan McGregor in the role of the Jedi Knight, alongside Hayden Christensen, meanwhile, in the role of Darth Vader!

But that’s not all since our colleagues from variety exclusively reveal that John Williams will be signing the series’ main theme song. Aged 90, the legendary composer – author of the soundtracks of the three trilogies, but also of the main theme of Solo: A Star Wars Story – had announced his retirement from the franchise, after more than forty years of good and loyal service.

Rewarded by 5 Oscars, John Williams had not composed for television since the series Fantastic Stories in 1985. In addition to a large number of dates of representations across the United States, the latter will also sign the soundtracks of the films The Fabelmans (semi-autobiographical feature film by Steven Spielberg) and Indiana Jones 5 directed by James Mangold.
