As Skyrim and other Bethesda productions before it, Starfield has a lot of support from enthusiasts who change the game in a positive way. Barely available, the RPG already has interesting mods.
Starfield is the big event of this fall. Bethesda’s space RPG, available on Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and PC, was eagerly awaited. We gave it a score of 8 out of 10, highlighting the strength of its proposal (despite some serious flaws). In the wake of Skyrim, Starfield is a video game meant to last over time. Because its content is colossal (hundreds and hundreds of planets) and because it will be able to count on the support of the community.
Thus, on the Nexus Mods portal, you can find and download dozens of mods, i.e. improvements and/or additions proposed by enthusiasts (and which may be taken over later by Bethesda for a possible refined version). Starfield However, it is only accessible since September 1 in early access. But some are already in business to make the experience better – or more fun for those who want to spice up their epic. Five mods to consider for improving Starfield
DLSS for Nvidia graphics cards
Bethesda has signed a partnership with AMD to Starfield. Therefore, some features related to Nvidia graphics cards are missing, such as DLSS. The purpose of DLSS, or Deep learning super sampling, is to improve performance by playing on a lower image resolution. The scaling is boosted in order to benefit from a better fluidity without degrading the general quality. In short, it’s a real asset when you have an Nvidia graphics card.
But there is already a mod that replaces the equivalent AMD solution (FSR) with DLSS. Available at this address, it is called “Starfield Upscaler” and has been downloaded more than 200,000 times. For the moment, DLSS2 is compatible (not DLSS3, therefore). Of course, you may encounter bugs.
A PlayStation interface
Game developed for the Xbox ecosystem requires, Starfield has an interface designed for the Microsoft controller. Do you play with a DualSense, the PlayStation 5 pad? A less invasive HUD

But a mod, called BetterHUD, allows you to make some changes to the interface so that it takes up less screen space. Concretely, the notification will be smaller and relocated to the bottom of the screen – just like those related to the experience points earned.
A more practical inventory
We collect many, many things in Starfield, between weapons, ammunition (there are too many), resources, outfits, items that can only be sold… Problem? The readability of the inventory, it is not extensible. A modder therefore had the good idea to improve ergonomics by increasing the number of items that can be seen without scrolling (the limit goes from 9 to 12, or even 17 in the compact version). This can come in handy, knowing that the original inventory design is preserved.
Want to break the game?
