Since Starfield’s release in September 2023, the number of players has steadily decreased. Some fans even thought the Steam Award for the most innovative gameplay was a troll result.
Despite the many reviews and the declining number of players, there are now indications that there could soon be an expansion (“DLC”) for the game. Bethesda had already named the Shattered Space DLC before Starfield was released.
Change in SteamDB
Fans have discovered a change in SteamDB that could be a reference to a DLC announcement. A note “unknown app” appeared in the DLC section of the database.
As Insider Gaming reports, this type of update is a novel addition to the game’s metadata and could point to either Shattered Space or a smaller, less significant DLC.
