Starship Troopers: Extermination revives the cult franchise with co-op FPS

License Starship Troopers hasn’t seen many video game adaptations, but that seems to be changing. If you are even slightly interested in the genre of science fiction, it is impossible for you not to know this series of films initiated by Paul Verhoeven, who behind these airs of big blockbusters hides (not very subtly) a satire on American imperialism. The subtext of this work, however, does not seem to be on the program of Starship Troopers: Exterminationwhich uses this universe to present us with a new cooperative experience (another one).

Early access planned for 2023

Starship Troopers: Extermination is therefore developed by Offworld Industriesa little-known studio that only managed to stand out with its game named squadwhich also mixed FPS and cooperation.

The title announced today uses the same formula and will allow 12 players to embody members of the Federation in order to cooperate via teams of four, in order to defend their base against the aliens. Three classes will be available for characters, with the famous tank – DPS – support trinity, while five types of Arachnids will be present at launch. A large map will be divided into five distinct areas, in which we can gradually build shelter and defenses.

We discover here a first teaser for the game as well as some screenshots. Starship Troopers: Extermination will first launch in early access, sometime in 2023. At the moment, the game is only planned for PC via Steam.
