In the early afternoon, an 11-kilometer traffic jam formed in front of the Gotthard north portal.
According to Viasuisse, the waiting time is currently around one hour and 50 minutes.

Travelers to the south are advised to take the alternative route via the San Bernardino. However, there is also a traffic jam there between Nufenen and the San Bernardino tunnel. The tunnel is currently only passable in both directions.
