steak and chips of discord

By participating this year in the program “Koh-Lanta, The legend” (TF1), Teheiura, emblematic adventurer, was probably not thinking of landing on the island of temptation. The temptation, in this case, was not an enterprising vahiné, but a steak and fries, cooked vegetables and fruits which were delivered to him in the secret by a boatman … “We have learned and we have had confirmation that on several occasions you have asked fishermen who were passing off food”, the host Denis Brogniart told him during an improvised disciplinary council.

After acknowledging the facts, the pitiful adventurer explained it on social networks: One morning, I saw a person. I hesitated for a long time and then, finally, torn by hunger, I couldn’t resist, the temptation was too strong. I gestured to her, she put down some food. I didn’t want to keep it to myself, so I shared it. It only happened twice on the same day. For the second time, I didn’t ask for anything. “

“It’s going to weigh me down for the rest of my life…” Teheiura said.

Teheiura was therefore excluded from the game, and the sentence is irrevocable. “I almost …”, added the adventurer, during a filmed contrition session. “Has a rule”, whispered Denis Brogniart. “Has a rule”, the adventurer obediently repeated. “To the ethics of Koh Lanta ! “, added Denis Brogniart, in a serious tone. In terms of atmosphere, we were finally not very far from the great Stalinist trials. “It will weigh on me for the rest of my life …”, also saw fit to add the native of Papeete, as if he had killed a member of his tribe for a piece of cassava (I remind you that we are just talking about a steak and fries swallowed on the sly).

The blow of the canoe-Deliveroo

Teheiura’s real crime? Bringing the anachronistic imagination of home delivery into a program whose credibility is based on a Robinson Crusoe aesthetic. In other words, to have brought in the off-screen, the omnipresent civilization and its fantasy of total availability of everything, in a game that likes to feign the possibility of escaping it. “It is not because you ordered yourself a small 3 cheese in the evening that you are not a good adventurer, courage to you”, quipped, on Twitter, a certain Axel.

There is undoubtedly something deeper behind the joke. If the real object of the game is to survive, then all means are indeed good to keep afloat physical and mental capacities. In survival, there is no rule superior to that which stipulates that one must do everything in his power for his own conservation. From the point of view of the deep “ethics” of the game, the canoe-Deliveroo move is undoubtedly a masterstroke.
