Steam changes its refund policy to avoid abuse

Users of Steam are familiar with the reimbursement conditions on the payment platform Valve. Players have 14 days to request a refund for a game, provided they have played it for less than two hours. Conditions which leave room for abuse, particularly in certain cases.

Today, Valve do evolve its reimbursement conditions on Steambut don’t panic, the change is minor. It mainly concerns games with preview accesssuch as early access for a few days by pre-ordering an edition Deluxe (to be distinguished from games in Early Access). Previously, the timer started on the day of official launch, so some players requested a refund at the end of preview access. It’s now ancient history:

Game time acquired during the preview access period will now be taken into account in the calculation of the reimbursement period provided by Steam.

This should avoid some deviations in very specific cases., but most players won’t see any change. As a reminder, you can find a bunch of games Steam on discount on Gamesplanet.
