After refreshing the design of the Steam Android and iOS application, Valve has just integrated a brand new feature on the famous gaming platform. Indeed, the manufacturer of the Steam Deck announces the addition of a new “Steam Charts” page.

Today we’re launching Steam Charts, a new section of Steam dedicated to displaying the most played and top selling games on Steam. With data updated in real time”, explains Valve in a press release.

Valve revamps Steam’s stats section

According to the company, the interest is to provide an overview of what’s popular on Steam, in order to arouse the interest of the player through detailed figures. Well, concerning the games sold, we also don’t expect to have the exact number of copies sold, this is not the case. This new section of Steam dedicated to statistics displays a lot of information. Thus, you will be able to consult:

  • the list of the best sales classified according to the turnover generated
  • the best sales in real time
  • the most popular games (in number of active players) in real time
  • The best sales of the week
  • the best novelties of the month
  • Steam hardware and software investigations
  • Steam download statistics
  • Steam customer support statistics

It is also possible to activate some filters on these searches, to obtain for example the weekly evolution of the sales of a title, or view the popularity of a game region by region. Then note that it is possible to display the top 100 best-selling and most-played games. You will understand, nothing revolutionary with this new page. It is nevertheless a welcome refreshment in the presentation of these different data, which until now were only accessible on third-party sites such as SteamDB or Steam Chartz.

As a reminder, Valve made major changes to the rules for displaying games on Steam in July 2022. From now on, it is forbidden to display a visual that highlights ratings or rewards. The idea being above all to avoid abuse and to mislead players.
