Steam finally gets a decent app on Android and iOS

Steam has released an update to its mobile app on both iOS and Android. The latter greatly improves navigation and security with a QR Code and double authentication system. A long-awaited update, since the old version was a real bore to use.

The Steam app just received a big facelift ! Valve has indeed released a new update on both iOS and Android which thoroughly reviews its operation and design.

Admittedly, the old version of the application was a real gas plant. From now on, it is very pleasant to walk through. It has been redesigned from scratch and allows you to navigate more serenely, in addition to bringing new features.

The Steam application brings its share of changes

The application allows to find your way around in your library. The latter displays a tile system and by clicking on the desired game, we find all the essential information as well as the possibility of downloading it remotely (if your PC is connected to Steam). The interaction with the online store has also been reviewed. It was time ! Plus, Valve has added some cool new things to its app, like the ability to quickly login on PC using a QR Code. No need to enter your identifiers and the code received by email! Security level, we also note the presence of a connection confirmation, which is not a luxury. The platform is known to be targeted by hacking campaigns lately.

The revised and corrected application also makes it possible to improve the exchange of items on the market, to take into account several accounts on the same phone or even to have several customizable tabs. Regarding the Cat, Steam always reserves it for a separate application. The latter has also been redesigned to be easier to use. We appreciate it, even if we would have liked everything to be concentrated in a single software.

For the complete list of new features, the patch note is available on the official Valve blog. The brand has also made a video that sums it all up. In any case, the application needed a big polish and this update is therefore beneficial.
