According to Valve, Steam Deck is more of a PC than a classic handheld. With the Steam Deck PC you can play the latest PC games on the go.
So far, more than 2,000 games are available to you. The ability to use ray tracing shows that the Steam Deck is significantly more powerful than the Nintendo Switch.

Even though the Steam Deck has already been released, you can’t just buy the handheld easily. There is currently a reservation system, as the Steam Deck will not be available again until October 2022 at the earliest.
As soon as the Steam Deck is available again, you will receive an email and from that point on you have 72 hours to complete the purchase. Otherwise your reservation will expire and you will have to be put on the waiting list again.
How much does the handheld cost?
The lowest price of Valve’s handheld is 419 euros for a model with eMMC storage. The most expensive variant costs 679 euros and includes the faster NVMe SSD with 512 GB. In between there is a Steam Deck with the 256 GB NVMe SSD for 549 euros.

What does the Steam Deck PC look like?
Steam Deck has a handheld design, but lacks the well-known staggered layout of the controls. Analog sticks, D-Pad and action buttons are in one line.
Steam Deck analog sticks and trackpads are capacitive. This means that touches are recognized. Touching activates the internal gyro sensors, allowing gyroscopic aiming.
What hardware does Valve’s Steam Deck feature?
The new handheld features a 7-inch LCD screen, analog sticks and trackpads. The various Steam Decks differ only in terms of storage options.
There is also a docking station that goes with the device, which you can use to play on your TV as soon as it is released. If necessary, you can even connect a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and play like on a mini PC.
