Steffi Graf and her husband Andres Agassi have found happiness in their family villa in Nevada and are spending a wonderful Christmas there.

It goes high. But that’s nothing new for Steffi Graf, 53: she was number 1 in the world rankings for 377 weeks during her tennis career. This time her goal is just the top of the giant Christmas tree, and instead of the podium, she climbed a ladder at home to decorate the tree with lights, tags and ribbons. But even then she seems just as focused as she used to be on the tennis court.

Steffi Graf: Christmas with the family

Festively decorating the villa is an important ritual for them. Everything should shine and shine when the family meets at Christmas: Steffi and her husband Andre Agassi, 52, son Jaden, 21, and daughter Jaz Elle, 19, Steffi’s mother Heidi, 77, and everyone else from the big clan, the always found each other again, even after severe crises. “Stef and I love to cook for everyone,” Andre once said in an interview and revealed how perfectionist he is. Sitting together in a large group, laughing, talking and just having fun – these are the moments that the couple appreciates.

They enjoy their happiness on 850 square meters

Especially on your own property, which is a real challenge to decorate. 850 square meters of living space spread over two floors. Six bedrooms and six bathrooms offer plenty of space for overnight guests. In the spacious eat-in kitchen, the hosts prepare the Christmas menu as well as the turkey for Thanksgiving, and the outdoor area with lounge, barbecue and fireplace leaves nothing to be desired. A Mediterranean-style paradise where the two ex-tennis pros have found happiness for their family – just 15 minutes’ drive from the bustling metropolis of Las Vegas, yet nestled in a lush oasis in the middle of the Nevada desert, with breathtaking views of the Springs Mountains and Red Rock Canyon.

In 2011, Steffi and Andre bought the home for a good three million euros. In the meantime, the value of the property, which includes a 4,000 square meter plot of land including a pool, should have at least doubled. But what is much more important is that the Agassis have given the house character, as their posts on social media show. They exchanged furniture, hung pictures, laid fluffy carpets on the stone floors. In short: the large rooms filled with life.

The children leave the parental home

The fact that things are getting quieter now that Jaden has gone to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of a baseball career and Jaz Elle is also slowly going his own way, makes the parents sometimes wistful, Andre admits. But it also gives them more time for themselves and their marriage. 21 years after saying yes, the two seem at least as in love as on the first day. A dream team that, after a life in public, today enjoys privacy and also supports needy and socially disadvantaged children with two foundations.

Andre Agassi raves about his Steffi

Steffi made the best of him, Andre said to GALA some time ago and described his wife as “enchanting, reliable, beautiful, disciplined, determined and clear”. And as reserved as Steffi Graf is otherwise, when she talks about her husband, she too gets enthusiastic. “Andre is incredibly caring and takes care of things very well. And he always knows how I’m feeling.” Trusting each other, talking to each other a lot, giving each other time to think about things: This is how they describe their recipe for happiness. Perhaps this also means that they consciously avoid the red carpets, the big events, the spectacular show appearances. A friend of the famous couple told Sports Illustrated magazine: “There is no more normal family.” If you don’t know their past, you would never guess what an exciting life they once led.

The turbulent life is over

Today, Steffi’s day starts around 6 a.m. with a long walk with her three dogs – Great Dane Blue, Retriever Buster and Yorkshire Terrier Yankee. Then breakfast with Andre: There are avocados and cappuccino. Tennis is only on the program for charity games, but sport is still very important to them. They love pickleball, a mix of badminton, tennis and table tennis. Jaz Elle trains hip hop dance. And the whole family sits on the sidelines when Jaden pitches the ball with the USC Athletics. Then Steffi and Andre are just parents. Unpretentious and loved by everyone. After the big Christmas break, the family goes on a traditional ski vacation to Idaho. And there, too, the four live according to their philosophy: “We try to make something special out of every day.”
