Carmaker Stellantis STLAM.MI STLAM.PA has decided to furlough some 2,250 employees from February at its Mirafiori factory in Turin due to weak demand in the sector, a spokesperson said , confirming a union press release.
Concerned, from February 12 to March 3: 1,250 employees assembling the electric Fiat 500 and 1,000 others producing Maserati models, said the spokesperson.
The unions have expressed their concern about this situation and called for negotiations with management as soon as possible.
Stellantis took similar measures last October and November, for the same reason.
