Stellantis: Unveils its new Peugeot E-3008

(CercleFinance.com) – The current Peugeot 3008 is a best-seller which has attracted more than 1,320,000 customers in 130 countries for 7 years.

The group is continuing its ambition to offer an electric range for its entire offering from 2025 and 100% of electric sales in Europe by 2030.

Peugeot thus unveils its new E-3008. The brand benefits from the brand new STLA Medium platform from Stellantis, of which the Peugeot E-3008 is the first model to benefit.

Peugeot designs and locally industrializes the new E-3008 in France. The batteries were designed in the Stellantis factory in Mulhouse, then the packs are assembled at the Sochaux factory, which produces the E-3008.

The range will be structured around two finishes, Allure and GT with 3 option packs, and three electric engines (210 hp, 230 hp long autonomy and 320 hp Dual Motor 4-wheel drive) as well as two hybrid engines, according to the steps.

‘The launch of the Next-Level E-3008 is a major step in Peugeot’s radical transformation into a 100% electric brand that sets new benchmarks in terms of design, driving pleasure and efficiency. With its exterior design, its spectacular Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit®, its driving pleasure and its unprecedented electrical performance, the Next-Level E-3008 brings Peugeot into a new era, that of the general French brand offering the market the widest range of electric vehicles. ‘ “ declared Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot.

The new E-3008 immediately stands out with its fastback SUV line. The dynamism of the feline line of the new E-3008 also finds its origin in the balance of the vehicle’s dimensions (length: 4.54 m, width: 1.89 m, height: 1.64 m), which remains the one of the most compact in the 100% electric SUV category in the C segment.

‘The new E-3008 brings together the inventiveness and audacity of Peugeot, it embodies all of our brand values. Reinventing 3008 means working on its modernity, reconciling dynamic design with optimal efficiency through a fastback silhouette and innovating with a new generation of Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit®’. said Matthias Hossann, Peugeot Design Director.

The new E-3008 is available in a palette of six colors: Obsession Blue, Ingaro Blue, Okenite White, Pearl Black, Artense Gray and Titanium Gray.

Beyond the spectacular 21-inch floating panoramic screen of the new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit®, the strong attractiveness and technological character of the passenger compartment are reinforced by the LED ambient lighting customizable in 8 different colors.

Two key functions of the Peugeot i Cockpit®: on the left part of the panoramic screen, the instrument cluster brings together, above the compact steering wheel, all the information related to driving (speed, power meter, driving aids, energy flow…) On the right part of the panoramic screen, in the center of the dashboard, the touchscreen part is accessible to both the driver and his passenger. It allows you to manage heating/air conditioning, navigation, media/connectivity systems, etc.

The new Peugeot Panoramic i-Cockpit® offers a unique architecture. The central part of the dashboard accommodates the i-Toggles, fully customizable tactile keys which allow you to program quick access to 10 user favorite functions: call a favorite contact, launch navigation to a frequent destination, adjust the radio on a popular station, set the ideal air conditioning temperature, etc.

A fundamental element of the Peugeot i-Cockpit® since its origin, the compact steering wheel has been extensively reworked to offer even greater sensations and driving comfort.

The Focal® Premium Hi-Fi System is made up of 10 speakers with exclusive patented technologies. They are associated with a 12-way 690 W amplifier (boosted class D technology). The musical experience is enriched by the introduction of the innovative ‘Front Optimized’ listening mode.

Selectable using a control located on the central console, several driving modes allow you to ideally adapt the performance of the E-3008: Normal Mode, Eco Mode, Sport Mode.

The Peugeot E-3008 has semi-autonomous driving with the Drive Assist Plus system. This assists the driver by relying on all of the car’s sensors (cameras, radars, etc.) and information from the connected navigation system.

The new Peugeot has in particular adaptive cruise control with Stop & Go function and helps maintain position in the lane, manages direction and speed to keep it in a lane and at a speed predefined by the driver, change of semi-automatic lane, advance speed recommendation, detects any change in speed limit by reading traffic signs and collecting information from the connected navigation system, and suggests to the driver to adapt the Adaptive Cruise Control setting …

Designed from the outset as an electric model, the new E-3008 benefits from a range of 3 zero-emission engines (WLTP cycle pending approval) which meet all customer needs: Range of 525 km, 2 wheels power, 210 hp/157 kW, Dual Motor with range of 525 km, 4 wheel drive, 320 hp/240 kW, Long range of 700 KM, 2 wheel drive, 230 hp/170 kW.

‘ With the new E-3008, Peugeot is entering a new era, both in terms of design and electrification. The E-3008 is designed for demanding customers who evolve quickly,” said Jérôme Micheron, Peugeot Product Director.

The charging socket located on the left rear fender offers Mode 2/3 (alternating current) and Mode 4 (direct current) connections.

The 2-wheel drive versions have 157 kW (343 Nm) or 170 kW (343 Nm). The 4-wheel drive version with 2 motors provides a total power of 240 kW (157 kW at the front and 83 kW at the rear). The front motor delivers 343 Nm of torque and the rear motor delivers 166 Nm.

The battery is guaranteed for 8 years (or 160,000 km) for 70% of charge capacity.

The My Peugeot smartphone application allows the E-3008 user to remain permanently connected to their vehicle and to remotely access numerous functions: geolocate their vehicle, receive alerts, remotely control the closing of the doors and activate the lights or horn to locate the car.

In addition to the strategy of 100% electrification of the range, the group will market a large, higher-class electric SUV to target a broader customer base of large SUV buyers (the new Peugeot E-5008).
