Stellar Blade is already blowing up FF7 Rebirth before its release

Stellar Blade arrives and the game is already crushing the competition. It does better than FF7 Rebirth, the big PS5 exclusive, even before its release! A very big launch in perspective?

It’s THE next big PS5 exclusive to come, Stellar Blade is on everyone’s lips and it’s coming soon. Everyone will be able to find the beautiful Eve from April 26 exclusively on Sony’s latest console, at least for the moment.

The beat’em all from Korean studio Shift Up has been in the spotlight for a while, notably thanks to its more than perfect protagonist, almost too much so, as we noted during our first handling of the game Stellar Blade has been getting a lot of attention and it has been quite successful since the game is already doing better than another PS5 exclusive from the start of the year, FF7 Rebirth.

Stellar Blade crushes FF7 Rebirth before release

Yes, FF7 Rebirth may well be a fairly exceptional game in its genre, but it could well have some concerns. Stellar Blade is right on track and could well surpass Square Enix’s big PS5 exclusive if we are to believe the latest figures concerning its demo.
The action game is indeed playable for free on PS5 via a short demo which retraces the start of the game and an additional boss encounter. A few minutes of play perfect for getting your hands on and understanding the dynamic gameplay of the title.

And we have to believe that Stellar Blade attracts crowds and curious people, and it is obvious that the latest stories around the game have something to do with it. In any case, it worked since more than 690,000 players tested it according to Ampère Analytics, an expert in the field. A very nice score which also turns out to be almost double that of FF7 Rebirth whose demo attracted “only” 380,000 players, where we could have expected much more for the moment.

By relating the number of users of the demo and the number of sales at the launch of FF7 Rebirth and extrapolating the formula to Stellar Blade, it could therefore be that the latter literally explodes all records upon its release, far ahead FF7 Rebirth but also Rise of the Ronin, one of the other PS5 exclusives released recently.

It’s still too early to tell, but the release of Stellar Blade should be watched very closely. The game could well create a surprise when it launches. Hoping that the plasticity of the heroine is not its only selling point, but according to the first feedback and our own first hands-on with the demo, the game seems to have resources.

And you, have you tested the demo yourself?
