Born on April 4, 2023, Victory is here first grandchildren by Stéphanie of Monaco. Louis Ducruet, Marie Chevallier and the princess received our colleagues from Point of view with their granddaughter at the Monaco Palace for an interview focused on the little one, published this Wednesday, January 3. The happy parents took the opportunity to make some revelations about the pretty first name they chose: “We came to an agreement quite quickly. I absolutely wanted our daughter to wear an old French first name and not common today. I wasn’t a fan of the idea that she would be named after four other little girls in her class later. We couldn’t agree on a boy’s name so, in a way, Victoire made our job easier“revealed Louis Ducruet.
And that’s not all: Victoire has two other first names! “The first, Maguy, is a tribute to Louis’ paternal grandmother”, revealed Marie Chevallier. Indeed, the mother of Daniel Ducruet, father of Louis, is called Maguy Barbero. She worked as a housekeeper and married Henri Ducruet, a farm worker, with whom she had her son. “His second is Lam Huong. It’s my grandmother’s Vietnamese first name”, continued the 31-year-old mother. The little girl’s full name is therefore: Victoire Maguy Lam Huong Ducruet. The attribution of the middle name, however, did not please Stéphanie of Monaco… “It is traditional to give grandmothers’ names and not those of great-grandmothers, recalled Louis Ducruet. SO my mother was a little angry with us when we told her, but my grandmother was over the moon.”

Victoire, a little girl already “very curious and alert”
During their interview, the young parents said more about the character of their daughter, who already seems quite lively for her age. “Victoire is very curious and alert. We noticed this quite early. From two months old, she began to look around her, to stare at us, her eyes wide open. his father detailed. And to reveal an adorable anecdote: “We recently went on vacation with friends and she wanted to participate in everything, see everyone and never miss a moment.” Marie Chevallier outbid her with a touch of humor: “She is so interested in what surrounds her thatshe doesn’t want to take a nap in the afternoon!” However, their baby “sleeps well at night” and is “a child so kind that (she) makes them forget all the little inconveniences”. A real ray of sunshine!
