Biography of Stephanie Stumph

Actress Stephanie Stumph’s artistic talent was evident in her childhood: piano and guitar lessons, singing in a choir, dancing at the ballet and later in dance classes. Everything is a great joy for Stephanie. Her parents were certainly happy that she didn’t have time to go to parties while she was at school. Stephanie was never a daredevil but always very disciplined. This was also necessary because she usually filmed during the school holidays and had to study hard to get good grades. How good that she had a professional at her side, her father Wolfgang Stumph, an East German actor and cabaret artist, who could show her how to properly manage her energy.

With Stubbe to success

It is also thanks to his ambitions that Stephanie was allowed to play the role of his film daughter Christiane in the ZDF crime series “Stubbe – From Fall to Fall”. Not because his vitamin B helped here. Rather, both father and daughter practiced hard for the upcoming casting after the then eleven-year-old had finished school. With success, because Stephanie played the role of the series’ daughter from 1995 to 2014, and the viewer was able to watch her grow up. The atmosphere on set was also more familiar than strange. This was probably because both of Stephanie’s parents were always on set as important caregivers. Not every child actor is that lucky.

New paths in acting

With the end of the series, Stephanie Stumph was able to emancipate herself more and more from her role as “Kleenen” and develop her own path. In addition to roles in a Rosamunde Pilcher film adaptation and on the stage of the “Little Comedy” in Dresden, she played the title role in the two-part German drama “The Girl with the Indian Emerald” in 2013 and received much applause for her performance. Stephanie described this leading role as the highlight of her “career so far and a great honor.” Her acting studies, which Stephanie completed directly after graduating from high school between 2003 and 2007 at the University of Music and Theater in Leipzig, consolidated her talent. Since 2006 she has held the title of qualified actress, which she earned at the Schauspielhaus Dresden.

Love with high standards

In her private life, Stephanie Stumph has high demands on a partner and has been traveling solo for a long time. In 2010, the keyboardist of the band Stanfour, Alexander Rethwisch, convinced her that there were still men you could rely on and who were on an equal footing with Stephanie. Unfortunately, the feeling didn’t last, as the couple separated in 2015. Only the two of them know whether it’s due to their different life plans – Stephanie would have liked to have had her first child when she was 30, while he doesn’t yet feel stable enough as a musician.

Happy single?

Despite the separation, the two have a friendly relationship with each other, which certainly suggests that they did not part badly. “We’re still friends. He’s a great guy too. There’s no reason for me to avoid him.” But Stephanie Stumph wouldn’t describe herself as happily single today. “I’m happy. But happy single, that would be strange, wouldn’t it? If after a relationship the feeling of freedom is suddenly so great, then you must have been kept on a leash the whole time. That wasn’t the case with us. ” Because the self-confident actress doesn’t allow herself to be restricted by a man – she is a woman herself! With this healthy attitude, the Mimin will certainly soon have a new man at her side.

Stephanie Stumpf and the music

With her acting career, it seems as if Stephanie has given up her previous passion for music. Incorrect! Not only does she still play the piano today, but she also co-wrote the song “Herzbeben” by Helene Fischer, among other things. Since 2019 she has also hosted the show “Privatkonzert” alongside Wigald Boning.
