According to “Stern”, there are many work accidents in Tesla’s factory in Grünheide. A research team got an overview.
In March 2022, one of the richest men in the world, Elon Musk, opened the first European Tesla factory in Grünheide, Brandenburg, after just under two years – or exactly 861 days – of construction: the “Gigafactory” electric car factory. 10,000 people work in the factory, there will be 40,000 at some point. Award-winning investigative journalists spent a year researching for “stern Investigative”. The team also went undercover in the factory and was able to document sometimes terrible working conditions with a hidden camera. What they observe, among other things: understaffing, safety risks, lack of training and pressure on employees to build as many cars as possible.
In the course of the research, the “stern Investigative” team came across, among other things, previously unpublished documents from authorities and emergency services that document a striking number of work accidents, including serious and extremely serious ones, in Tesla’s German factory. In addition, there is various environmental pollution in a drinking water protection area. Tesla itself has not yet commented on the allegations.
