Still deprived of the Internet four months after an outage, an Orange subscriber is completely in despair

More than four months after the passage of storm Ciaran, an Orange subscriber has still not regained his access to the Internet. The man, who tried everything, is going through an ordeal.

Since the devastating passage of storm Ciaran at the beginning of last November, a resident of Collety, in Langonnet, on the Morbihan side, remains deprived of the Internet. Despite his multiple reminders to the operator Orange, nothing changes for him. Alain Breteau is still cut off from digital technology, desperate by the situation.

Almost five months without Internet since storm Ciaran

In Calvados, at the start of the year, several homes were still cut off from the Internet and telephone, repairs taking a long time due to the damage caused by the storm. Almost five months now after the passage of storm Ciaran and a broken pole in Langonnet, Alain Breteau, based in the region below (Brittany), is in the same situation.

An Orange customer since the company existed, Mr. Breteau quickly turned to the operator to report the problem. But even today, he deplores the lack of solution.

The steps taken by man have, it must be said, revealed themselves to be a journey strewn with pitfalls. At the beginning of December, he had received a letter with positive signals, in which he was promised that the line would be restored before December 29. With waiting, of course, but a reassuring deadline.

Appointments canceled in succession, and a subscriber deprived of Internet, television and landline telephone

At the end of December, the line was still not repaired. Alain then waits a few more days and ends up relaunching Orange on January 10, 2024. The meetings follow one another, the subcontractors come one after the other, in particular to replace the broken pole. We no longer count the boxes checked in the diaries.

Six meetings were notably set and then postponed between March 5 and 22. We can then understand the subscriber’s impatience, especially since the next appointment, automatically made for March 26, led to nothing, since Mr. Breteau was not available this time.

Cut off from the digital world, Alain Breteau deplores the inefficiency of Orange’s customer service and the complexity of reaching a competent technical advisor. Despite regular withdrawals made by the operator until February 2024, no progress has been made to resolve their problem, leaving the resident without a landline, television or access to online services. He is still awaiting a definitive intervention date.
