(CercleFinance.com) – Eiffage announced yesterday that the consortium made up of Eiffage Métal, leader of the consortium, and Eiffage Construction, has won the contract awarded by STMicroelectronics for the extension of its production site in Crolles.
The site already provides 50% of the production of electronic chips for the Group, which wishes, in particular thanks to its Crolles site, to double its production capacity over the next few years in Europe to guarantee the supply of the European market with semiconductors.
The project concerns the construction of a new high-tech production unit using an innovative process of modular extension by sections. A technical center (CUB) on three levels, connected to the building by walkways, is also planned.
The works, lasting 24 months, have already started 4 months ago, specifies Eiffage.
