The future is secured for the time being: the telenovelas “Sturm der Liebe” and “Rote Rosen” each get 180 new episodes.

The ARD telenovelas “Rote Rosen” and “Sturm der Liebe” will be continued. The NDR Broadcasting Council approved the plans on Friday (February 4), according to a statement. The contracts for the two productions are to be extended by 180 episodes each.

The new episodes will then be broadcast as usual from Monday to Friday in the afternoon program of Das Erste and in the ARD media library from the beginning of 2023. Editorial responsibility for “Red Roses” lies with the NDR. “The North German telenovela ‘Rote Rosen’, which is set and filmed in Lüneburg, is a mainstay in the afternoon program of the first and a strong brand of the ARD media library,” said Ute Schwiegershausen, Chairwoman of the NDR Broadcasting Council. The series are commissioned by Degeto for ARD.

“Storm of Love” has been broadcast on the first (3:10 p.m.) since 2005. “Rote Rosen” started in 2006. The series also runs from Monday to Friday in the first, always at 2:10 p.m. On February 3, the station broadcast the 3,500th episode of “Red Roses”.
