Stranger Things, the prequel? David Harbor wants this actor to play young Hopper and we validate the choice!

While the fifth season of “Stranger Things” will bring the Netflix phenomenon to a close, actor David Harbor already knows who could play his young character.

What will happen to the Stranger Things universe after the release of the fifth and final season? Spin-off, sequel, prequel… Everything is possible, but on the side of the Duffer brothers, nothing has yet been decided. However, David Harbour, who plays Sheriff Jim Hopper, already has an idea of the actor who could interpret a young version of his character in a possible prequel.

The answer ? Jacob Elordi, revealed by Sam Levinson’s Euphoria series. “I think Hopper can exist independently of meexplains David Harbor in an interview with GQ magazine. I would like to see another actor play him and see what he can bring.” He continues, not without humour:Jacob Elordi, I think he can be as handsome as me in my 20s.”

A prequel to Stranger Things with a young Jim Hopper will indeed see the light of day, but on the boards. A play, titled Stranger Things: The First Shadow, will be launched at the end of 2023 in London. The plot will take place in 1959, before the arrival of The Upside Down. Several hallway noises claim that the room will hold a few key elements for Season 5.

On the Hollywood side, the production of this final season has still not been launched, blocked by the writers’ and actors’ strike. On Twitter, the Duffer brothers made it known that the situation will not change as long as this strike continues.

As a reminder, this social movement aims to demand a reassessment of residual rights, better working conditions and makes it possible to fight against the advent of Artificial Intelligence which threatens many jobs.

Stranger Things is available on Netflix.
