Generous strangers paid more than 30 euros. Yes, please, please,” said the man from Graz. And it really wasn’t a joke: the lady paid for the groceries worth over 30 euros in cash. The curious thing about this remarkable generosity: Gottfried Obermayer had never seen the woman before and didn’t know her. “I thanked her briefly and thought I’d see her again in front of the shop, but then she was already gone.” A wish that we are happy to comply with – because especially in difficult times like these, such a gesture is a strong sign of humanity and cohesion.
