Strasbourg firefighters and police are wondering Monday about the possibility of a meteorite fall after an intervention on a vehicle with a 50 centimeter diameter hole on the roof. The firefighters were called early in the morning to intervene on a “release of smoke on a car” parked in a peripheral district of the Alsatian city. “Following the recognition of the first team, we suspect the fall of a stellar body,” writes Sdis du Bas-Rhin in its intervention report published at midday.
“On our arrival, we noticed a relatively large impact, with a diameter of approximately 50 centimeters, which passed through the roof, the underbody and the tank of the vehicle,” fire captain Matthieu told AFP.
