Streaming: Peacock content from January 25 on Sky

On January 25, the content of the streaming service Peacock will be integrated into Sky’s offering. Peacock, a streaming service from NBCUniversal, launched in Ireland and the UK last November. Germany and Austria are now following. Switzerland is to receive the service in the coming months.

Sky customers can watch Peacock content at no extra charge, but they will be interrupted by ads. In the USA, Peacock is also available as a premium subscription without advertising – in Germany, Austria and Switzerland you don’t have this choice.

The Peacock content is available on Sky Q and Sky Ticket subscriptions in Germany and on Sky X in Austria. Peacock’s content includes series such as The Office, Monk, Downton Abbey, Dr. House and Battlestar Galactica. Reality TV fans can look forward to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Peacock’s film portfolio includes Back to the Future Part 3, Gladiator and The Green Mile. A press release does not make it clear which of these titles will be available directly for the launch on January 25 – Sky only writes that all the films and series mentioned should be available on Peacock “now or in the coming months”.

The start of the advertising-financed streaming service in Germany had previously been delayed: Last July, NBC’s parent company Comcast and Sky announced that the service would be available in 2021. However, this deadline was missed.

The streaming service Paramount+ from ViacomCBS will also be integrated into Sky: the US service will be available to Sky Cinema subscribers in the course of the year – at no extra charge. In addition, Paramount + should be bookable separately for Sky customers.
