Streaming tip: Sylvester Stallone becomes a tough superhero on Prime

Of course Sylvester Stallone is the main attraction of this movie and apart from the “Creed” movies you haven’t seen him on this level for a long time. Not only is he physically still believable as an overly strong fighter, he also plays the bitter loner who slowly finds his way back to himself through a little boy with particular intensity. Of course, the fact that he still deals out most of the punches himself in the fight scenes helps immensely for the authenticity.

His co-stars do a good job too, although “Game of Thrones” star Pilou Asbæk may be overdoing his villain character. The plot also suffers from the fact that the bigger twists in particular are very quickly foreseeable. But it doesn’t really do any harm: “Samaritan” is a successful mix of old-school action, comic myth and character drama, which should unite several generations on the home sofa. So anyone who wants to introduce their children to the action heroes of their own youth is well served here.

“Samaritan” was released on August 26th on Amazon Prime Video.
