The streaming service has won several statuettes, despite the raid by Everything, Everywhere, All at Oncewho wins the major prizes of this evening.
After a 2022 edition overshadowed by the slap of Will Smith, the Oscars went smoothly this Sunday, March 12 in an agreed edition and without scandals.
Everything, Everywhere, All at One is a hit
He was one of the favorites, but Everything, Everywhere, All at Once created the surprise by blowing most of the major awards including the most prestigious of them, that of the best film.
The Daniels’ film won seven Oscars in total, including the Oscar for Best Director, Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh, Best Supporting Actress for Jamie Lee Curtis, unforgettable Laurie Strode of the saga Halloweenor Best Supporting Actor for Ke Huy Quan, best known for his role as Half Moon in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom by Steven Spielberg.
Only the prize for best actor escaped him and was given to Brendan Fraser, who we discovered in The Mummy in 1999, for her role in The Whale. Avatar: The Waterway leaves empty-handed or almost, with an expected Oscar for its visual effects.
Netflix stands out as the real big winner of the 2023 Oscars
Netflix is no longer just a streaming platform, but a full-fledged film studio and this Oscars evening has once again consecrated the work of the American company.
In the west, nothing is new presents itself as the other big winner of this ceremony. The German war film won four awards, including Best Cinematography, Best International Film, Best Original Score and Best Art Direction.
Netflix also won the Oscar for best animated film for the Pinocchio by Guillermo Del Toro, produced in stop-motion and released at the end of 2022. The film achieves a performance by winning against behemoths like Red alert from Pixar, or Puss in Boots 2 from Dreamworks studios.
Netflix is not the only streaming service honored during the ceremony. After the Best Picture Oscar last year for Codathe platform won the statuette for best animated short film for The Child, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

The American service is not the most popular in the world for nothing. With an offer of content enriched each week, an always optimal video quality and a very worked user experience, the platform is an essential choice for entertainment. Our only regret remains the constant increase in subscription prices, which makes the service a little less attractive than when it was launched… Fortunately, the number of series and films compensates for this increase, even if the quality or the certainty of seeing arriving new seasons is not always there.
