The unions are demanding a bonus and recognition for the involvement of employees during the pandemic.
Traffic should be slightly disrupted this Friday on the RER B, due to a drivers’ strike scheduled for the day of the France-Denmark football match at the Stade de France. This movement is thus planned a week after a very chaotic Champions League final.
The traffic will however bealmost normal» and the interconnection «maintained at Gare du Nordon the RER B train, which means travelers coming from the south will not have to change trains to travel to the north of Paris, the RATP said. “As a reminder, metro lines 13 and 12 as well as RER D also serve the Stade de France” in Saint-Denis, adds the transport authority which provides “an important passenger information plan“.

Regarding the RER A, also affected by a call to strike, traffic will be normal, assures the RATP. The CGT, Unsa and La Base de l’entreprise publique unions called on RER drivers to strike on Friday to denounce the understaffing and demand a bonus of 1,500 euros in recognition of their involvement during the pandemic.

This is the second day of mobilization after that of Saturday which had slightly disrupted traffic on the RER B, leading the supporters who came to watch the Champions League final between Liverpool and Real Madrid at the Stade de France to deport to RER D or metro line 13.
Incidents then marred the event, which was marked by excesses and serious problems in managing the flow of spectators. The affair took a highly political turn, on the French ability to organize major sporting events one year from the Rugby World Cup 2023 and two years from the Olympic Games in Paris.

On the RER B, the RATP only operates the southern part of the line. From the Gare du Nord, the SNCF – where no union is calling for a strike – manages the line towards Saint-Denis and the Stade de France.
