TBM traffic should only be “slightly disrupted” this Thursday, but major disruptions are expected on trains departing from and arriving in Bordeaux and the Girondin ferries will not run.

The atmosphere has been electrified in Bordeaux and the surrounding area since the vote by the National Assembly on the pension reform project. In Bordeaux, the new national mobilization scheduled for Thursday will take place from 12 p.m. on the alleys of Tourny.
In terms of trams and buses, Transports Bordeaux Métropole plans to “slightly disrupted trafficfor the day, 12% of TBM agents having so far declared themselves to be on strike. It will be adjusted to one passage every 7.5 minutes on line C (every fifteen minutes on the Parc des Expositions, Gare de Blanquefort and Pyrénées extensions). On the bus side, line 12 will not run and lines 29, 31 and 42 as well as the express routes of line 84 have been cancelled. Lines 23 and 26 have their frequency adjusted to 30 minutes during peak hours, and 20 minutes for line 24.

The situation will be more complicated for TGV and TER departures and arrivals at Bordeaux Saint-Jean station. As of Wednesday, the SNCF warns of a “train traffic disrupted in New Aquitaine“. This Thursday, the railway company expects traffic “very strongly disturbed» and invites travelers to check the circulation of trains and connections from 5 p.m. the day before.
The Gironde department also announced that the two Girondin ferry lines (Blaye – Lamarque and Le Verdon – Royan) will not be served at all on Thursday and specifies that “traffic may be further disrupted on Friday March 24“.
School picnics
According to the town hall of Bordeaux, at least 29 schools and kindergartens will be closed this Thursday and most of them will offer neither reception nor canteen. For schools where non-striking staff will supervise the meridian break, hot emergency meals provided on site or cold picnics at the parents’ expense will be on the menu.
