Stronger-than-expected rise in producer prices in June


The producer price index (PPI) rose 1.1% last month after gaining 0.9% (revised) in May, the Labor Department said. Over one year, its increase was 11.3%, after +10.9% (revised) the previous month.

Economists polled by Reuters on average forecast a rise of 0.8% month-on-month and 10.7% year-on-year.
