At 12:08 a.m., Denmark’s 2-1 victory in the Nations League is dry.
The patience of fans and players was put to the test before football could finally be played at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna on Monday evening. Because of a power failure, the game between Austria and Denmark started a whopping 90 minutes late.
After that, the audience got to see an exciting exchange of blows – with the better ending for the guests from Denmark. The final point was also a feast for the eyes: Jens Stryger Larsen flicked the ball wonderfully into the far corner of the goal from around 17 meters in the 84th minute (2:1). As a result, Ralf Rangnick’s team failed to equalize despite a few top-class chances to score.

In the 27th minute, Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg gave the Danes the lead, after just over an hour the home side came back with a deserved 1-1 thanks to Xaver Schlager. The goal was preceded by a fatal mistake by Denmark goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.
The Austrians missed the 2nd full success in the 2nd game in the Nations League League A (Group 1). The Danes, who had previously also floored France 2-1, succeeded in doing this.
