During a conference broadcast on YouTube, the Xiaomi group launched its SU7. No new smartphone here, since it is an electric car.

The electric sedan from Xiaomi had already lifted the veil on its technical sheet at the very end of last year and (like a smartphone) is available in three versions: SU7, SU7 Pro and SU7 Max. Remember that the manufacturer wants to be one of the main manufacturers of electric vehicles in the world within 20 years.

Xiaomi SU7: a power/autonomy duo that will make the competition pale

We have known since last December that Xiaomi wants to make its SU7 a little in-house technological gem. For this, the brand has developed various aspects of its vehicle, starting with the engine, but also the battery, assembly, autonomous driving, and of course, the software part.

This will go through HyperOS, as on the brand’s latest smartphones, for an optimal interactive experience. On board, we will notably find a large 16-inch central screen, not forgetting a instrument panel behind the steering wheel. To this will be added a 22.5 W wireless charger, a head-up display (HUD) and even the possibility of integrating two screens at the rear.

On the engine side, we benefit here from the HyperEngine V6 and V6S blocks, more efficient than those of the Tesla Model S Plaid and the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, which we tested at Clubic. Xiaomi also promises an extraordinary battery (with its CTB technology, for Cell-to-Body), with three distinct models: 73.6 kWh, 94.3 kWh, and finally, 101 kWh.

The manufacturer thus promises a range of 700 kilometers (CLTC) for the base model and 830 kilometers (CLTC) for the Pro model. The Xiaomi SU7 Max will have a 101 kWh battery and a power of 673 horsepower, for a range of 810 kilometers.

Xiaomi announces that it has taken care of the aerodynamics of its car, with a drag coefficient of only 0.195.

What prices for the Xiaomi SU7?

The Chinese brand took advantage of its conference to formalize the engine and autonomy of its SU7 models, but also the different prices. Thus, the Xiaomi SU7 is displayed in China at the price of 215,900 yuan, or a little more than 27,500 euros.

As for the SU7 Pro model, we exceed the threshold of 30,000 euros, with a price set at 245,900 yuan (the price of the Model 3 in China), or 31,500 euros. Finally, the premium SU7 Max version is priced at just under 38,500 euros.

Color wise, you can choose between Aqua Blue, Mineral Gray and Verdant Green, while the interior can be customized in grey, red or black. Note that pre-orders are currently only available in China, but Xiaomi does not rule out exporting its SU7 in the coming months or years.
