And here is some very sad news to end the week. While we had hoped that new episodes of the series sly and Infamous are in development, in particular following the declarations of certain insiders, the studio Sucker Punch comes to cut short all possible fantasies, by announcing black on white that no new game is planned around these two licenses.
The end of a rumor
On the studio’s official website, a new message has just appeared to prepare for the 25th anniversary of Sucker Punch, while announcing some small adjustments to the games. Infamousin particular around the servers ofInfamous 2 and DLC Cole’s Legacy of Second Soundwhich will finally be accessible via all territories.
But what stands out in this statement is the fact that the studio claims thatno new game Infamous Where sly is currently in development, either within Sucker Punch or at another studio :
“ As our games continue to grow in size and complexity, they require our studio’s full attention. Focusing on our current project, we have no plans to reunite with inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper at this time, and no other studios are currently working on projects related to these licenses either. These characters are very special and dear to our hearts, so while we would never say never open those doors again later, as of now, there are no inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper games in development. »
We can indeed imagine that with a potential Ghost of Tsushima 2the studio doesn’t have the time (nor the need) to concentrate on other licenses.
Some may believe that the studio is lying, but we will trust Sucker Punch’s word more than others. Proof of this is that you should always use the conditional with this kind of rumour, and that caution is always in order, especially with insiders who do not have a reliability history that is always in the green.
