Sudden turnaround – family poisoned: probably had drugs as a starter

Under mysterious circumstances, a Flachgau family ended up in the hospital on Monday evening. Now it becomes clear what may have happened. And: Neither gas nor food were the culprits…

Under mysterious circumstances, a family of six in Obertrum was admitted to two hospitals in the city of Salzburg on Monday evening. Even emergency doctors and a helicopter were on duty – the “Krone” reported. If a leak of gas or a chemical was initially suspected, food poisoning was then suggested. Leftover food was even taken to the AGES laboratory in Vienna and a microbiological examination was ordered. Only a three-year-old child without symptoms. The pancakes with green filling that were half-eaten at the table suggested that the perpetrator was on the plate. But now the suspicion of something completely different is becoming more concrete. According to “Krone” information, neither gas nor food are likely to be the culprits for the acute symptoms of poisoning. The entire family probably consumed drugs before dinner. An overdose of cannabis and the delayed effect probably surprised the people of Flachgau at dinner. The pancakes that were served remained on the plates. The adults staggered outside and waited for the rescue workers. As has only now become known, only the three-year-old toddler remained without any symptoms of poison. Drug experiment could still have repercussions. The Red Cross, the emergency doctor and the fire department did not yet know what had really happened when they raised the alarm shortly after 8 p.m. on Monday. On Tuesday everything pointed to a poisonous “doppelganger” of wild garlic as the culprit for the poisoning symptoms, but on Wednesday the turning point came. Only slowly did it become clear that drugs might have been involved. The police are currently only ruling out foul play. The family from tranquil Obertrum is now back home from the hospital. It is still unclear whether all of the people involved in the drug experiment, the oldest of whom is 72 years old, actually consumed cannabis voluntarily. However, the matter could still have legal consequences.
