Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League fails a second time

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice was never a big success despite some successes to its credit. With its season 1, it could have done better, but the game failed.

Released at the beginning of the year, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League did not have the expected success. The game is not inherently bad, but clearly not up to what we had the right to expect from Rocksteady. The staging is neat and the gameplay is a great success, even if certain fights lack visibility. However, on the publisher’s side, it was a cold shower. “Suicide Squad failed to live up to expectations», Explained Gunnar Wiedenfels, the financial director of Warner Bros Discovery. However, there was hope with the arrival of the first season and its new playable character: the Joker.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice already dead?

A few days ago, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League players were able to discover the first season of the game which marks the arrival of the Joker. The studio then had a lot of fun with the gameplay of the super villain based on a flying umbrella and prank gadgets of all kinds. One would have thought that the arrival of Gotham’s famous clown would give a boost to production and increase the number of daily players. However, this unfortunately never happened. There was a 500% jump at the launch of this first season on Steam.

From 600 people daily, Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League managed to attract 3,000. A disappointing score, knowing that the peak of the game was 13,459 players on the platform in the past and that this was half less than Marvel’s Avengers. If only a quarter of Steam players came to try Joker, they left immediately. Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League already lost 1000 daily players on the second day of launch, and a week later it is back below the mark of 1000 people connected per day on Steam.

Terribly poor content

It must be said that they quickly realized that the content of this first season was frankly poor. Being able to play as the Joker without paying requires hours and hours of grinding, which no one saw coming. And on the side of history? This was also a cold shower for the player, because there are no new scenarios. The new character is introduced with a cutscene, and that’s it. These figures for Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League obviously only concern the Steam version, but given the performance below expectations we are not giving much of our skin. How long until Rocksteady announces the end of its follow-up?
