Summer Game Fest: Ready for Thursday night? Geoff Keighley launches his E3 on video!

A tradition he inherited from his friend Hideo Kojima, Geoff Keighley released the launch trailer, which he edited himself, for the launch of the Summer Game Fest. For 3 days, you will be able to discover what will animate the small world of video games thanks to 5 conferences to follow live and which will surely be followed by other appointments during the month.

Kick-off Thursday at 8 p.m.

The launch show should already contain its share of announcements. We already had a glimpse of the future thanks to the Final Fantasy XVI gameplay trailer a few days ago, but we hope that the kickoff of this Summer Game Fest will be rich in joyful videos of this kind, with concrete and come on, let’s get crazy, promising new licenses. But instead of making our list to Santa Claus, we leave you with the famous trailer published last night on Twitter by the ex-journalist.

5 dates to remember from June 9 to 12

The bulk of the Summer Game Fest will be concentrated from June 9 to 12, with 4 lives to remember if you plan to follow the event.

  • June 9 at 8:00 p.m. – SGF The Future of Video Games: The opening live of the show. It’s unclear what will be shown there, but you can already cross off all of the June 2 State of Play games from the list. We can assume that this will be the perfect ground for third-party publishers to show us what they are preparing for the next few months.
  • Night of June 9 to 10 at midnight – Devolver: The independent game publisher will be doing its annual live just after the opening live of the SGF and we hope it will be as crazy as that of previous years. That of 2021 was quite scanty in announcements, we will quickly see if the American has more tricks up his sleeve this year.
  • June 10 at 7:00 p.m. – Netflix Geeked Week: The brand continues to want to bridge the gap between video games and animations, with several series taken from successful games in development, and conversely, several games taken from their series. It will surely be the opportunity to see more for the animated Cyberpunk.
  • June 10 at 9:00 p.m. – Tribeca Games Spotlight: One of the many meetings dedicated to indie. If the course is similar to last year, there should be something for everyone, with many small productions to come in the coming months.
  • June 12 at 7:00 p.m. – Microsoft / Bethesda conference: The Xbox ogre will end this first round of conferences of the summer, with an eye on the future of Microsoft and Bethesda games. We should see Starfield gameplay for the first time, as well as new previews of big MS licenses like Hellblade 2 or Forza Motorsport.
