Thanks to Instagram & Co., we can get new inspiration from our favorite influencers and fashion role models almost every day. But now there is another fashion source that gives us insights into the summer trends for 2021. The online retailer ASOS has exciting news about what is most popular with its 25 million customers.
A little teaser in advance: We would never have expected one of the two most popular trends …
Summer trend 1: The Vichy dress
The so-called Vichy dress is an absolute bestseller. Its sales have increased by a whopping 300 percent compared to the previous year. And we understand the hype: Because the typical square pattern not only looks classy, especially in black and white, it also goes well with almost every figure type. For more freshness, it is best to use bright colors. Because the color is almost always broken with white squares, it can never appear “too much”.
Alessandra de Osma, Princess of Hanover, shows us how stylish the Vichy dress can look in the maxi version. If you only want to set small accents with the Vichy pattern, you should choose a top or shirt with the pattern instead of a dress and combine it, for example, with white jeans with a fancy cut.
Summer trend 2: toe separator sandals
Toe separators in summer? That doesn’t sound very groundbreaking at first. But the twist on classic summer shoes is the heel. Because instead of wearing the flat version as usual, toe separators are now ordered up and down in the heel version in the online shop. Admittedly: The sight takes a bit of getting used to. But in combination with Bermuda shorts, which are also currently popular, the shoes are suitable for everyday use. In addition to the heel, the toe separator sandals have another twist: They come into their own in pastel tones such as lilac or light green. But also the version in a bright purple, as Xenia Adonts shows her followers on Instagram, is an absolute must-have in summer.
