It’s that time again – with Super Bowl LVIII, probably the biggest sporting event of the year awaits us. In addition to the sporting aspect, the event reaches an audience of millions worldwide with its shows. Last year, over 110 million people tuned in to watch the National Football League finale. Here we provide you with all the information about the season finale.

The teams in the Super Bowl 2024

This year the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers. In the AFC and NFC conference championships, the two winners advance to the grand finals. The Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens 10:17 in their last game. The Ravens’ normally strong offense could no longer get past coach Andy Reid’s team, especially in the second half. After the 2019/20 and 2022/23 seasons, the title from 2023/24 should now follow.

The San Francisco 49ers narrowly won their duel with the Detroit Lions 34:31. Kyle Shanahan’s team was able to make up a 24-7 halftime deficit in a furious finale. The encounter against the Chiefs in the Super Bowl should still be familiar to some: In the 2019/20 season they lost the final against this year’s opponent 31:20. Now they get their revenge four years later.

The 2024 Super Bowl schedule

Like every year, German fans have to be prepared for a long night. The 2024 Super Bowl will be broadcast on the night of Sunday to Monday, February 12, at 12:30 a.m. from Allegiant Stadium in the city of Paradise. The stadium is usually home to the Las Vegas Raiders. Depending on the situation, it could go until 4:00 or even 5:00 in the morning. We have outlined the complete schedule for you again in a separate article.

Halftime show and other program items

In addition to the sporting aspect, the NFL also attracts countless viewers in front of the screen with the halftime show. It has been known since the end of September that Usher will take over the so-called “Apple Music Halftime Show”. After a guest appearance in 2011, this is the R&B singer’s first solo appearance at the football event of the year.

A pre-game show with Gwen Stefani is also planned in Las Vegas. This is officially called “Super Bowl LVIII TikTok Tailgate”. Shortly before the game, the US national anthem will of course also be played. Country singer and actress Reba McEntire takes over here. Additionally, Post Malone will perform America the Beautiful for viewers.
