It looks like Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot will no longer appear in DC Studios’ upcoming movie, “The Flash,” slated for 2023.
According to ComingSoon and The Hollywood Reporter, the next The Flash, which is slated for release on June 14, 2023, will no longer include cameos of Superman and Wonder Woman, played by Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot.
Although they have already been filmed, the scenes in question would thus have been cut from the superhero film with Ezra Miller as the headliner, a little more than six months before the film’s release date. This would be another step towards the end of the old DC Extended Universe to make way for the new universe created by DC Studios co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran.
The news comes shortly after Henry Cavill announced he would no longer be playing Superman following conversations with James Gunn about the future of DC film adaptations.

In that same vein, the studio has also opted out of moving forward with Patty Jenkins’ version of Wonder Woman 3 – two solid indicators that prove DC is committed to a complete overhaul, a reboot that will cut therefore all bridges with the previous regime.
THE END OF AN ERA
With its redesigns, in addition to the rumor that Jason Momoa is potentially leaving Aquaman to play supervillain Lobo, it looks like the DC Universe that began with 2013’s Man of Steel is truly coming to an end.
Of the four DC movies confirmed for 2023, The Flash will be the second to hit the big screen on June 14. Shazam! Rage of the Gods is set for release on March 22, Blue Beetle on August 16, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom on December 20.
In the meantime, nostalgics can go to Amazon Prime Video to find Henry Cavill and Gal Gadot in Justice League or even in the first installment of Wonder Woman.
