The superhero series “Superman & Lois” finally arrives on TF1 from the middle of July. For the occasion, Tyler Hoechlin (“Teen Wolf”) slips into the costume of the man of steel.
Launched in February 2021 on the CW, Superman & Lois, the latest from theArrowverse, finally arrives on TF1. From Tuesday July 12 at 9:10 p.m., viewers will be able to find the famous vigilante in a new, much darker reinterpretation of the myth of the Man of Steel.
Now an adult, life is not all rosy for Clark Ken and his wife, Lois Lane, who have to deal with unemployment, the anxiety of their children and the death of a parent. The couple then decides to return to Smallville, but this is without counting on General Lane, Lois’ father, who warns them that the happy days are long gone…
For their part, Jonathan and Jordan Kent must face the pangs of adolescence but also the heavy secret of their father.
Created by Todd Helbing, who previously worked as a screenwriter on The Flash, Superman & Lois is led by Tyler Hoechlin, a comedian discovered in Teen Wolf, and Elizabeth Tulloch, who cut her teeth in Grimm.
Their sons, Jonathan and Jordan, are played respectively by Jordan Elsass, a young talent revealed in Little Fires Everywhere where he gave the reply to Reese Witherspoon, and Alexander Garfin, who gets his first role here. Emmanuelle Chriqui (Circle) will slip into the skin of the famous Lana Lang and Dylan Walsh (Nip / Tuck) will be General Lane.
A record audience
A real critical success in the United States, the series was renewed for a second season after only 2 episodes aired, making it the fastest renewal for a new series, thus beating the record previously held by The Flash in 2014 which had been renewed. for a season 2 two weeks after its on-air debut.
The 90-minute Superman & Lois pilot had brought the CW its best primetime ratings in the past two years. This first episode also allowed the channel to obtain the largest streaming audience in its history for a new series.
