A book, a documentary and a series

The “thug of the century” told his story in different ways. First in an autobiography, published in 2006, then in a documentary, Rocco, released ten years later. On Supersex, the actor operated as a consultant. He was able to provide details about his experience and his personality but never interfered in the writing of the script.

Creator Francesca Manieri, a committed and feminist woman, did not want to meet Rocco Siffredi before doing all her research and finding the angle of the series. In an interview with AlloCiné, she explains: “I wanted to know everything about him, but not meet him because it would have been difficult to keep all my freedom.”

Stormy meeting

It was only once this work was finished that the screenwriter agreed to the meeting and the least we can say is that the first contact was not easy. “It was difficult at first. Difficult but strongshe reveals. If you agree to face the other’s difference and enter into conflict with them, not to run away from this conflict, something will happen. And that’s what happened. We therefore agreed to enter into conflict to begin to enter into its history.”

The collaboration ultimately continued peacefully. “I share with him the conviction that sexuality is something indomitableadmits Francesca Manieri. Of course, I realized when I met him that he is much freer in his vision of sexuality than we are supposed to think.”
