How the suppression of the phone number ultimately works depends on the manufacturer. Here we show you how you can suppress the phone number on new and older Samsung devices either once or permanently.

Suppress phone number once

Whether iPhone or Android, if you want to suppress your phone number once or for special calls, just type the short one prefix #31# before the number to call. This usually also works with landline devices, which were used significantly more often in the last year.

Suppress phone number on new Android versions

To permanently suppress the phone number on your Samsung cell phone, you should follow the steps below:

  1. Open your phone’s settings.
  2. In the settings you now go to “additional services‘ and on to ‘Show own phone number“.
  3. Now there should be a menu with the option hide number” to appear.
  4. By activating the button, your phone number will no longer be displayed.

If you are using an older version of Android, you should proceed as follows:

  1. In the settings go to “call settings“.
  2. Select the function “Additional settings and click on “Show own phone number“.
