In the field of sports watches, we generally know Garmin and Polar – and now Apple with the Watch Ultra – but other manufacturers manage to do well. This is the case of the Finnish brand Suunto which has just presented its new high-end cardio watch, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro.

On paper, this connected watch looks like a particularly premium watch with a number of features expected by sports users, but not only. In addition to a three-button navigation system, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro has a 1.2-inch transflective touch screen that will allow you to view the watch easily even in direct sunlight. An LED backlight is also offered to take a look at the data of the watch in the dark. Note also that the display is offered with a definition of 240 x 240 pixels.

The Suunto 9 Peak Pro is also available in six colors with two different materials – titanium or stainless steel. It also benefits from a thickness of 10.8 mm for the case and a diameter of 43 mm. On the other hand, note the particularly wide borders all around the screen.

In terms of sports and health data, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro is obviously equipped with a GPS that Suunto describes as ” accurate », but which however does not seem to be multiband compatible (L1+L5), but only L1. The watch also benefits from a real-time heart rate monitor for training.

An announced autonomy of three weeks

Who says sports watch or necessarily many sports and health monitoring functions. The watch is thus able to assess your level of recovery, your training load or your level of fitness thanks to an estimation of the VO2Max.

Regarding autonomy, Suunto communicates on 40 hours of use with GPS activated during training. Without GPS, in daily use, the Suunto 9 Peak Pro is designed to operate for 21 days, or three weeks continuously.

The Suunto 9 Peak Pro is already available for pre-order at 499 euros for the steel version (green, gold, blue or black) and at 629 euros for the titanium version (beige or gray). Deliveries are scheduled from October 25.
