Sweden: a company tests the implantation of the sanitary pass under the skin

One step ahead. In Sweden, a company specializing in microchip implants has developed a health pass to be worn under the skin, in a country already at the forefront in this area.

If the practice remains confidential, several thousand Swedes have had an electronic implant inserted under the skin in recent years to replace keys, business cards, train tickets … and for some now their vaccination pass.

The homeland of the series “Real Humans” is one of the strongholds of “biohackers” (“”) convinced that this type of solution is the future of humanity, despite the concerns they raise.

On a voluntary basis

Thanks to wireless technology, electronic microchips can thus store and broadcast data, such as credit card chips, for example. The sanitary pass could be stored in the same way. This is what the company DSruptive Subdermals, which specializes in microchip implants, offers.

The chip, the size of a grain of rice, is implanted in the arm or on the hand. Without battery and signal, it is only activated on contact with sensors. “This means that it cannot be activated to know the position of the person wearing it,” explains director Hannes Sjoblad. And what is important to me is that the people who receive these implants do it on a voluntary basis, they are curious, they want to work with these new technologies. “

With such a solution, no more phone battery problem. His health pass is still available.
