Swisscom delivers strong performance in 2021


Bern (awp) – Swisscom is posting an improved performance in 2021. Subject to an erosion of its revenues, the number one Swiss telecommunications company, which did a little better than expected, saw its net profit increase by 20.0% to 1.83 billion Swiss francs.

Turnover rose by 0.7% to 11.18 billion Swiss francs, wrote the telecommunications operator in the hands of the Confederation on Thursday. Operating performance improved markedly, with operating profit before interest and taxes (Ebit) increasing by 6.0% to 2.01 billion.

As for operating profit before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (Ebitda), it was 4.48 billion Swiss francs, or 2.2% more than twelve months earlier. As expected, the blue giant intends to propose to its shareholders at the next ordinary general meeting the payment of a dividend of 22 Swiss francs per share for the financial year under review, i.e. an amount identical to that paid last year. .

Finally, Swisscom is also announcing the departure of its managing director Urs Schaeppi on June 1, 2022. He will be replaced by Christoph Aschlimann, head of technology.
